The Clark Volunteer Fire Department has been serving the community since 1924. Currently we have 38 members skilled in varying degrees of firefighting and rescue. We have two firehouses which hold our equipment. This consists of two pumpers, two rescue pumpers, a tower ladder, one special operations vehicle and two water rescue boats. We respond to an average of 520 calls per year. These include fires and alarms in industrial, commercial and residential buildings, car fires, motor vehicle accidents involving entrapments, hazardous materials and other miscellaneous rescue calls.
The Fire Department is headed by Frank J. Cerasa, who is our Fire Chief and Fire Official. The Code Enforcement office is located at 252 Broadway, telephone number 732.381.1158.
The Clark Fire Department is currently accepting applications for volunteer positions from out of town residents that have Firefighter one and two training. The only requirement is that the applicant live no more than two miles from Township limits. Applicants without Firefighting one and two training that live within one mile of Township limits are also eligible. Required training will be provided to applicants that are recommended for available positions as needed. Township residents will be given preference for any available positions.
Anyone interested in joining the Clark Volunteer Fire Department can stop in at Broadway Fire HQ, 250 Broadway on Thursday evenings [7-9 PM] or Sunday mornings [10 AM-12 noon] for further information.
