Girls field hockey

Kumpf Girls Field Hockey Team Recognized By Mayor & Council

The Kumpf girls field hockey team was presented with certificates of achievement at a recent Township Council meeting.

Mayor Bonaccorso addressed the gathering, sharing that the team was undefeated for the season with a final standing of 11-0-1.  They tied against Garwood in one game and had six straight shut-out games in the start of the season before giving up a single goal.

In the end, the Mayor told the girls to play hard, work hard and be a good teammate as he reminded them of the saying that, “you play for the name on the front of the shirt, not the back.”

Holida Blood Drive

Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad Hosts Holiday Blood Drive

As the holidays approach, the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad wants to remind you that the need for blood escalates. More parties and poor driving conditions create more chances for accidents. Add to this the regular surgical needs, and you can easily see why blood supplies need to be replenished during these times.

The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad (CVES) has scheduled a blood drive through The New Jersey Blood Services Division of the New York Blood Center for Wednesday, November 27. Since this is the day before Thanksgiving, the hours for this drive are from 10AM to 4PM. Your donation of one pint can save up to three lives because it can be separated into red blood cells, platelets, and plasma.

Free t-shirts will be given to those that donate, while supplies last.

Adults must wait eight weeks between donations. Donating is safe and easy. The Clark Squad House is located at 875 Raritan Road and offers private, off-street, lighted parking.

Make someone extra thankful this Thanksgiving, save a life by donating blood.
