Union County Taking Steps to Remove Controversial Boat Ramp

The Township of Clark is pleased to announce that Union County has reached an agreement with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to allow recreational watercraft and boats to travel on the reservoir beneath the Garden State Parkway, permitting access to the entire reservoir.  As a result of this agreement, the County is taking steps to remove the Wendell Place boat ramp and associated construction from the current bid specifications. This decision reflects the County’s commitment to efficiently utilizing resources while preserving public access to the reservoir. The Mayor and Council will continue working with stakeholders to ensure that recreational use aligns with environmental and safety standards. The Township appreciates the collaboration between Union County, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, and Clark residents in making this expanded access possible and looks forward to fostering greater recreational opportunities for the community.
