Attention Residents: Keep Those Toilet Lids Down

Beginning October 13th  and continuing through approximately mid-November, proactive sewer jetting will take place throughout the community. This preventive maintenance process uses high-pressure water to clear debris, grease, and other blockages from sewer lines, helping to maintain the system’s efficiency. While sewer jetting is typically performed without issue, we recommend keeping toilet lids closed when not in use as a precaution. In some cases, the pressure from the jetting process in the main sewer line can cause minor splashing in household drains. Keeping the lid down can help prevent water from reaching surrounding surfaces.

Union County Bans E-Bikes and E-Scooters in Parks

Union County has issued an Executive Order immediately prohibiting the use of motorized vehicles β€” including e-bikes and e-scooters β€” in all County parks. The action, announced during a press conference led by Senate President Nicholas Scutari and Union County Commissioners, comes in response to growing safety concerns and recent local tragedies.

The order ensures families can enjoy parks without the risks posed by fast-moving motorized vehicles, while state leaders work on broader legislation to update e-bike laws across New Jersey.
