Mayor Albanese with Local Veterans

Clark Gathers Under Friday Night Lights to Honor Local Veterans at Patriots Night

The Clark community came together under the Friday night lights for a heartfelt Patriots Night ceremony, honoring the brave men and women who have served our country. Held before the start of the Arthur L. Johnson High School football game, the evening served as a powerful reminder of unity, gratitude, and hometown pride.

Mayor Angel Albanese opened the ceremony by welcoming residents and guests, emphasizing the community’s shared respect for those who have worn our nation’s uniform.

Patriots Night has become a cherished Clark tradition, bringing together residents of all ages to show appreciation for those who have served — and to remind everyone that the heart of the community shines brightest when honoring its heroes.

The ceremony took place prior to the ALJ vs Gov. Livingston game which can be viewed here.

October is National Pedestrian Safety Month

October is National Pedestrian Safety Month, a reminder that safer streets start with all of us — drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. The Township of Clark is joining communities across the nation in promoting awareness and encouraging everyone to stay alert, follow crosswalk signals, and use caution in shared spaces.

To help educate residents about local safety improvements, we invite you to watch a short video on  Rapid Flashing Beacons featured at some crosswalks around the Township.  These bright crosswalk signals are designed to help pedestrians cross safely.

Clark Officer Honored as “Law Enforcement Hometown Hero”

The Township of Clark was proud to host Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. for his second annual Law Enforcement Hometown Heroes ceremony, held at the Clark Municipal Chambers. The event recognized 20 exceptional officers from across New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District for their outstanding service and commitment to their communities.

Among this year’s honorees was Clark Police Officer Giovannina Prisco, who was nominated by Officer-in-Charge Miguel Acabou for her dedication, integrity, and compassion in serving the Clark community.

Mayor Angel Albanese joined Congressman Kean in congratulating the officers and reflected on the significance of hosting the ceremony in Clark. "It was an honor for Clark to host 7th District Congressman Tom Kean, Jr.'s 2025 Law Enforcement Hometown Heroes award ceremony,” said Mayor Albanese. “It was great to meet all of those being awarded and those who nominated them. In speaking with the officers, I noted that many of them were trained by our Police Director, Pat Grady. However, what highlighted the event was the fact that one of our own officers, Giovannina Prisco, was being honored. Officer Prisco exemplifies the dedication, integrity, and compassion that defines our officers and our community as a whole. This recognition reminds us of how fortunate we are to have officers like her serving the Clark community.”

The event drew law enforcement professionals, local leaders, and families from across the region — all coming together to recognize the selfless work of those who protect and serve every day.
