Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad Honors Lifetime of Service and Welcomes 2026 Leadership
Laurie Sheldon was recognized at the Clark Township Council Public Meeting on January 5 following her recent receipt of the 2025 EMS Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was provided by the EMS Council of New Jersey, honoring Sheldon's more than 40 years of dedicated service to the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad (CVES) and the emergency medical services profession.
Her achievement was among the highlights of CVES’s annual installation dinner held December 7, marking the squad’s founding date in 1941. During the event, Mayor Angel Albanese swore in the squad’s 2026 officers, led by President Michael Gennaro, along with a full slate of executive and line officers committed to continuing CVES’s mission.
The evening also included recognition of members for milestone years of service, leadership, teamwork, and lifesaving response. Several crews received the “Angel in Uniform” Award for exceptional teamwork that resulted in a successful cardiac arrest resuscitation.
Founded more than 80 years ago, CVES continues to provide dedicated emergency medical services through the commitment of its volunteer members.
