Councilman Frank Mazzarella has represented Clark’s 1st Ward since 1997 and is one of the township’s longest-serving elected officials. With decades of municipal experience, he has focused his career on balancing fiscal responsibility with maintaining high-quality services for residents.
During his tenure, Mazzarella has supported major community initiatives including the expansion of the Clark Public Library, the preservation of Esposito Park and the Robinson’s Branch Reservoir as open space, and the creation of the downtown business district and Clark Commons retail center. He has also worked to improve traffic safety, champion senior housing and youth programs, and strengthen essential services such as public works, recreation, and emergency response.
In addition to his Council service, Mazzarella has represented Clark on the Rahway Valley Sewerage Authority since 1995 and previously served on the Zoning Board of Adjustment and as a volunteer with the township’s emergency medical services. He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Army Reserve from 1968 to 1974 during the Vietnam era.
